When I watch screeners, I tend to take notes so I can reference things in reviews that stood out to me. These are basically random, decontextualized, stream of consciousness thoughts. They’re edited/cleaned up for legibility but otherwise… just whatever popped into my head while I was watching. Beware profanity and spoilers.

Episode 1: Stung

Going into this, I know almost nothing.

• I don’t think Ticketmaster was doing the mobile tickets in 2016 lol.
• Back shots lol
• Marissa self-harm scars?
• Dre ain’t even lying about Khalid tryna fuck but of course she won’t be believed…
• But not Marissa running THEE FUCK away lmfao
• Ni’Jah Beyoncé 
• Dre went to the clurb pushed up on some long haired white boy (baby Culkin?)
• Oh bitch Marissa ODd? Died???? Killed herself
• Family don’t want Dre at Marissa funeral. Coldemort.
• Dre killed that man! Then inexplicably ate pie??

Episode 2: Honey

• Interesting how Marissa is the example of hyperbolic stan “we must protect Ni’Jah at all costs” but in reality a much more measured fan lol

• About to beat this lady in an elevator but mans with a tour jacket got in… follows him instead 👀
• She got caught breaking in and lying about being an abuse victim

Episode 5: Girl, Bye

• Ricky Thompson lol
• Lying about meeting Nijah and working as a makeup artist to old mall coworker
• Broke into Jacksons house demanding they turn Marissa phone back on almost gets killed; they blame her for Marissa dying but also apparently just hate her ??? 

Episode 6: Fallin’ Through the Cracks

• Not a real crime documentary/show focused on Dre 😂 
• Are these real Beyhive tweets???

Episode 7: Only God Makes Happy Endings

• Dre is masc presenting; Tony
• Dating Rashida, met her parents and everything
• Gets Rashida Nijah tix and she goes OFF so of course miss ma’am gets killed. But Dre BURNS THE BODY WITH THE TICKETS so she still CAN’T go 💀
• She shanks scalper for tix at the show 
• Slips into trance again jumps on stage… CHLOE 💀😭😂🤣 when did it become a delusion? (We know she’s arrested as Tony according to the previous episode so maybe she doesn’t even get to the concert? Is Rashida real???) 😩😂

Overall Thoughts

• Slow burn at the beginning but ramps up into an ultimately satisfying conclusion
• The ambiguity of the season finale is actually pretty fun because it asks the question of how much of the story happened the way we saw it. How much of it was editorialized or softened or embellished thru Dre’s lens… or are we seeing the reality until she slips into a trance at the show. Is that when she gets arrested? Lol
